People say that Jean-Pierre Pescatore, former owner of Giscours, transformed the ancient structure into a neoclassical palace in order to seduce Empress Eugénie de Montijo, with whom he was madly in love.

A tasting is a special moment, the opportunity to understand the secrets of how a Grand Cru Classé is made, its character and qualities. It’s an intimate experience that transforms into a moment outside of time shared between two people, a gift to yourself, to (re)learn how to discover new wines. At Giscours, we will open the doors to one of the Château salons for you to share a private, custom tasting of Giscours Great Wines with your other half, guided by a member of our teams. We will select the wines to taste together – why not try the vintage from the year you were married, for example? It’s a personalised, thoughtful gift that is sure to surprise your partner.

Are you looking for an original gift to be enjoyed as a couple? Why not opt for a candle-lit dinner in a château surrounded by grapevines! At La Table de Giscours, we promise you a unique moment to experience with your beloved. Our chef Benjamin Laurent will make you unique dishes with fresh, seasonal ingredients. At Giscours, the vast majority of the produce comes from our own land! The fruit and vegetables have been lovingly selected and harvested from our vegetable garden. The beef and lamb were raised in our fields. The eggs are collected every morning from the chicken coop.

Giscours has always kept its soul from yesteryear, continuing to have a working farm. This means that we opt for short circuits, so that we can offer authentic culinary experiences. Dining at Giscours means you can also hear its many stories, told even through the dishes served. A special moment, perfect for celebrating a wedding anniversary.

Located right next to the Château, our guest rooms are the perfect setting for a romantic weekend in Margaux, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. They feature elegant décor, evoking English country houses but retaining a typically Bordeaux note with a magnificent view over our oldest parcels of vines. It’s a calm, romantic place, perfect for relaxing with your loved one.

Giscours also has its secrets. Behind the Château hides a huge park with a promenade lined with hundred-year-old trees, rare plants and works of art. Around the lake, a path will guide you through this huge forest. For many years, this trail was kept a secret, but now it is accessible to all. It would make an atypical gift, if you want to show your other half a little piece of untouched nature a stone’s throw from Bordeaux. It’s an absolutely magical place in every season. The orange shades of the leaves make it an exceptional, poetic place in autumn, the winter light will surprise you, spring offers thousands of colourful flowers to discover and in summer, it’s the perfect place for a romantic picnic beneath an ancient tree.
