2020, a surprising year
The year began by a relatively sunny winter with contrasting but abundant rainfall, which led to bud-break 15 days early.
The spring was mild with regular rainfall. The first flowers appeared a dozen days early There were some strong heat waves from the end of June to mid-September.
Our focus was on preserving the water reserves from the rainy winter throughout the year.
The vines experienced considerable temperature variations but continued to grow in very good conditions, thanks to the expertise and bold choices of our technical team.
We choose to reduce the height of the canopy in July to avoid evapotranspiration and were duly rewarded for that decision. The veraison began just eight days early, slowed by the lack of rain in the summer.
September brought a favourable climate for the aromatic preservation and concentration of the grapes, with hot days and cool nights. The ideal conditions to preserve the energy of the fruit.
